Throughout the summer, students learn about surveys, statistics, graduate studies, and how government agencies work. The Lilly Graduate Fellows Program supports, during the course of their graduate education, exceptionally well qualified young men and women who have bachelor degrees from LFP Network Schools Sewanee is one of them and who are interested in becoming teacher-scholars at church-related colleges and universities in the United States.

To be eligible for the Lilly Graduate Fellowship, nominees must intend to enter a PhD, MFA, DMA, ThD, or equivalent program at the school of their choice in the fall after their Sewanee graduation or the following fall that will lead to a teaching career in humanities or the arts within the academy. Nominees must want to engage modes of Christian practice and inquiry in the context of the academy and their academic disciplines and demonstrate an interest in teaching at a church-related school.

Students must be nominated by Sewanee no later than mid-November. Marshall Scholarships finance young Americans of high ability to study for a degree in the United Kingdom. At least forty Scholars are selected each year to study either at graduate or occasionally undergraduate level at an UK institution in any field of study. Each scholarship is held for two years. Applicants should be seniors with a cumulative grade point average of 3.

Memphis Teaching Fellows is an opportunity for motivated, high-achieving professionals and recent college graduates from all backgrounds to revitalize the Memphis education system by becoming teachers with Memphis City Schools.

This highly selective program is a Memphis City Schools initiative to place talented and passionate individuals in math, middle school, French, Spanish, chemistry, and special education classrooms. No teaching or education experience is required to apply for Memphis Teaching Fellows. The National Physical Science Consortium is a unique partnership of industry, government and higher education.

NPSC's principal objective is to aid in increasing the number of Ph. NPSC offers two related programs: 1 a two phase six-year fellowship program; and 2. NSF runs a variety of program for both undergraduates and graduates. Students in or headed into graduate programs in the sciences might be particularly interested in the Graduate Research Fellowship Program. The program provides three years of support for graduate study leading to research-based master's or doctoral degrees and is intended for students who are at the early stages of their graduate study.

Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications offers this master's level fellowship and internship program in newspaper journalism for members of under- represented groups. Exceptional American students who have not yet begun graduate study or who are currently in medical school may apply. Marshall and Rhodes Scholars are also eligible to apply for this program.

This fellowship is offered annually to three outstanding undergraduate students from across the nation, chosen from students serving in a summer professional position with U.

Department of State in Washington, D. Embassies in London and Paris. Rhodes Scholarships bring outstanding students from countries around the world for two years of study at University of Oxford. Applications are sought from talented students without restriction as to their field of academic specialization or career plans although the proposed course of study must be available at Oxford, and the applicant's undergraduate program must provide a sufficient basis for further study in the proposed field.

All educational costs plus various additional expenses are paid on the Scholar's behalf by the Rhodes Trustees. The program provides a full scholarship to our graduate Master of Arts in Teaching MAT program, as well as financial support and mentoring during their first four years of teaching in high-needs middle and high schools. This is an ideal program for students who are committed to teach math or science and would like to receive the education and mentoring to become effective, committed teachers in high-needs schools.
