Data Center. About Us. Fiber to the Home. Apartment Service. Free Public WiFi. In fact, the public transit authority could potentially receive some revenue from Shaw in return for its service. But TransLink says revenue is not the primary objective of this new service, as the focus of the project is to provide a new major passenger amenity. Regular transit riders will no longer have to use their cellular data to access the internet and web-based apps.

Free Wi-Fi on public transit will also help improve the tourist experience in the city. It is going to add quality to our visitor experience.

They do have a WiFi capability built in from the factory, but not sure what the extent of it is right now other than for maintance. I have never picked up wifi on my ipod touch when in a ML, it was in the station on the platform between tracks 3 and 4. With brand new equipment roasting one end of the car and freezing the other half, all because spare parts aren't available, if this is true I cant see it lasting long.

Hi, First. So, I bring my laptop everywhere and it's on! I think the NJTransit wifi signal is coming from individual train stations and is named "optimumwifi". The reason is, when I'm on the train between stops, no signal. When I pull up to a stop, BAM, wifiaccess. It's become a little bit of a bummer because my default is obviously my wifi connection and not my Verizon Broadband card.

That means that when I pull up to the stations my computer tries to make the switch from by always connected VZW Broadband card to the optimumwifi NJTransit connection. To stop this from happening, I disable my wireless for each train ride and it works pretty well.

There is no wifi ON the train, just AT the train stations. Hope that helps answer some of the questions. Oh, all the Amtrak information is correct. You need to just be at the lounge and open your laptop. No fee when I was in South Station. Just have to show the network admin your Acela pass.
